Wheeler rolls past White Deer, 43-14

Wheeler's Terry Menefield ran for 189 yards on 16 carries and four touchdowns as the Mustangs routed White Deer, 43-14, Friday night in a Class 1A Division I bidistrict playoff.

Wheeler (10-1) scored five unanswered touchdowns to put the game away, and will face Sunray at Dick Bivins Stadium with the time and date to be announced. Wheeler's Michael Gaines finished with 135 yards on 20 carries and a touchdown.

White Deer, which finished the season 4-7, was led by Braden Montgomery, who was 21-of-36 for 264 yards with five interceptions.

The Clarendon Broncos jumped out to a 19-0 lead and held off a Nazareth rally in third quarter, knocking off the Swifts, 25-18, in a Class 1A Division II bidistrict playoff Friday night at Highland Park.

Clarendon's Johnny Gaines had a pair of touchdown passes in the first half to help give the Broncos the lead.

Nazareth quarterback Sage Black led the comeback attempt, throwing a pair of touchdown passes in the third quarter.

Wes Williams had 90 yards on 16 carries for Clarendon, while Black had 75 yards on 14 carries for Nazareth.

Clarendon improved to 8-3 and will face Stratford on Friday at Pampa in the area round. Nazareth ended its season 6-5.
