Timeout with: Bret Scheve, Randall junior wide receiver and defensive back
Scheve, a two-way starter, missed two games with a torn meniscus in his right knee. He came back last week to help the Raiders to their first win, 37-36 against Palo Duro. He caught nine passes for 129 yards, including the last two touchdowns of the game, as Randall rallied from a 15-point deficit.
# After getting your first win of the season, how much better of a mood is the team in?
"The team's in a lot better mood. There's more energy around here. After you get that monkey off your back, everybody starts jumping around more."
# What was the toughest part about not playing due to injury?
"Just watching the team get beat was probably the hardest part and knowing I couldn't help the team just standing on the sideline."
# With what you did last week, how much more do you think defenses are going to pay attention to you?
"Hopefully they won't pay any attention, but I think they'll pay some attention. It was just one game."
# What's the best thing about being a receiver at Randall?
"Blocking's a lot of fun. You go against DBs (defensive backs) who aren't that strong. It's fun to put those guys on their backs."
# What's your favorite movie?
"I'd probably say 'Friday Night Lights.' I also like 'The Pursuit of Happyness.' It's a great story."
# What's your favorite pregame meal?
"We like to go to Fazoli's. I usually get the baked lasagna."
# Who's your favorite athlete?
"Tim Tebow or Percy Harvin. I was a big Gator fan growing up."
